on details

i might only have one match,
but i can make an explosion.
— Fight Song, Rachel Platten

when i say i see you,

i see you in details:

when you’re grinding,

when you’re laughing,

when you cut the kuih by the chopsticks,

when you wipe the side of the sink.

when you remind me

to beware of the hot tea behind me,

and when you press the trashcan for me.

most importantly,

when you’re so tired but still bearing with me,

because i am so chatty.

and you probably will never know,

that i am only like that

when you are next to me.

you’re so quiet,

you’re so calm.

you make me feel over the moon,

and want to wear my purple gown.

i know one day i will let go,

and it’d probably hurt so bad that i am going to fall;

but guess what,

i will stay strong and bold,

as long as i still love you.

until one day, i don’t anymore.

they told me you’re nice to everyone,

i don’t care;

i only care who is being nice to you,

in case there is no one.
